Day 1 in Turks and Caicos: Arrive, Relax & Explore Grace Bay
You’ve landed at Providenciales International Airport (PLS). Grab your bags, rent a car (highly recommended!), and head to your hotel. We stayed at Seven Stars Resort in Grace Bay, which is walkable to shopping, the beach, and great restaurants.
Stop 1: Graceway Gourmet
Your first stop should be Graceway Gourmet, the main grocery store. Stock up on water, snacks, and maybe a few rum punches for your hotel fridge. Yes, it’s expensive—but so worth it for beach-day prep.
Afternoon: Beach Time
Head to Grace Bay Beach—soft white sand, turquoise water, and zero stress. After a swim, wander through Saltmills Plaza or Regent Village for iced coffee and souvenirs. More on that in my full Turks and Caicos Shopping Guide.
Dinner Options:
- Coco Bistro – Iconic palm-lined patio, seafood mains, and the best mahi-mahi I’ve had.
- Da Conch Shack – Beachfront, casual, and perfect for cracked conch and rum punch.
Don’t forget: the Thursday Night Fish Fry is a must if your trip overlaps. If you can make it, it’s definitely worth the drive!
Day 2: Snorkeling, Chalk Sound & Sunset Cocktails
Morning: Snorkel at Smith’s Reef
After breakfast, head to Smith’s Reef—it’s quieter than Bight Reef but full of turtles, rays, and coral. Bring your gear or rent it locally.
Afternoon: Chalk Sound
Explore Chalk Sound National Park by kayak or paddleboard. It’s a surreal shade of blue you honestly won’t believe. Grab lunch at Las Brisas, right on the water—get the fish tacos and frozen mojito.
Dinner:
- Mango Reef at Turtle Cove—get a waterfront table and order the paella or key lime pie.
- Want something casual? Try Turks Kebab for a quick local bite.
Day 3: Markets, Hidden Beaches & Local Eats
Morning: Craft Markets & Shopping
Circle back to Graceway Gourmet or browse a weekend market for gifts (spices, woven bags, handmade jewelry). My full Turks & Caicos Shopping Guide breaks down what to buy.
If You Have Time:
- Sapodilla Bay or Taylor Bay – Calm, shallow water and ideal for one last beach moment.
- Somewhere Café – Frozen cocktails + a beachfront lunch = perfect ending.
Before You Leave:
Grab a drink at the outdoor bar at PLS Airport. It’s the best way to squeeze out every last drop of island energy before your flight.

Is 3 Days in Turks and Caicos Enough? FAQs + Travel Tips
Renting a car is the most convenient option, especially if you want to explore outside of Grace Bay. Just remember – they drive on the left!
Yes! Three days is enough to hit the highlights – Grace Bay Beach, a reef snorkel, Chalk Sound, and a great dinner or two. Just don’t blame me if you start planning your return before you leave.
The best time to go is between November and April when the weather is dry, warm, and perfect for beach days. Expect higher prices during holidays.
Definitely. Turks and Caicos is laid-back but books up fast—especially spots like Coco Bistro or popular snorkel tours. Make your top reservations before you arrive.
If you’re only in Turks for 3 days, it’s best to stick to Providenciales. There’s more than enough to do -and less stress trying to hop around.
Yes! Grace Bay, Sapodilla Bay, and many resorts are perfect for families. But the island also works beautifully for a couple’s trip or girls’ weekend.
